Some helpful tips:
- Always place an aquarium on a smooth, clean, level surface.
- Never lean heavily on the glass. It will crack.
- Never try to lift/move an aquarium which contains water.
- Don’t use detergents or any toxic chemicals on or around your aquarium.
- A small (10%) water change should be done every two weeks or large (50-75%) water change once a month. Siphon to remove stale food and waste. (Remember to add Chlorine Remover)
- Never change ALL of the water at any one time. It will stress the fish and they may all die!
- Use a gravel washer, as it removes the waste but not the gravel.
- Always wet your hands first before holding live fish!
- Don’t over feed the fish. This causes rapid elevation of toxins in the water.
- Always remove any dead fish as soon as they are discovered to prevent contamination of water.
